K-2
program overview

Teachers in Kindergarten through second grade, along with their aides, work hard to keep the urge to learn alive in every child. Starting with an all day Kindergarten program, children begin their introduction to public speaking. Students at this age level learn best through exploration and doing. Hands-on activities are plentiful in the areas of science and math. Classroom centers also allow for movement. Reading groups are kept small to allow for more individual attention. Differentiated instruction is used throughout the primary grades.

Students in K-2 participate in daily journal writing and an ongoing writers’ workshop. Technology is integrated into the curriculum.

Classroom meetings that facilitate community building are held once a week.
